Staff Attend Continuing Education Course

Our staff recently attended a Continuing Education Course hosted by Delta Dental of Iowa in Des Moines, IA. The course took place on Friday February 5th, 2016 at the West Des Moines Sheraton. The course was taught by Dr. Jeremy Horst, a pediatric dentist practicing in San Francisco, and staff at the University of California San Fransisco’s School of Dentistry.

The course covered prevention of cavities in infants, assessing a patient’s risk for developing cavities, the benefits of toothpaste, fluoride, silver diamine fluoride, iodine, and xylitol.

Our office is continually learning to better serve our patients. Dr. Jarod is currently the only Pediatric Dentist practicing in Muscatine that offers services Monday through Friday. He has experience and advanced training in treating children from birth through adolescence.

Dr. Jarod has received advanced training in behavior management, sedation, hospital dentistry, trauma, special health care needs, interceptive orthodontics, space maintenance, oral hygiene, and dietary counseling. His energetic personality allows him to relate to kids on an individual level. He understands the importance of children having a positive dental experience and strives to provide the best care tailored to each child’s needs. Dr. Jarod enjoys educating children and their families on the importance of oral health so they can establish good habits for a lifetime of smiles. His goal is to develop relationships with each of his patients to establish a dental home that is welcoming from infancy through adolescence.
