Coronavirus Update
March 17, 2020
To the community and families we serve,
I would like to provide you with an update given current circumstances and concerns around the Coronavirus (COVID-19). At our office the safety of our patients, staff, and vendors is our top priority. The American Dental Association, and the Iowa Dental Association have recommended only providing emergency services at our office to help reduce the spread of the Coronavirus.
At this time we are working to reschedule routine care. We anticipate opening again on April 7th, 2020. Our office will continuously monitor the situation, and provide updates as needed. Please contact our office if your child has an injury, has pain, swelling, or infection. We will have a reduced staff and Dr. Jarod will still see emergencies to help reduce the burden on Emergency Rooms and Urgent Care facilities. We will continue to screen patients from the policy set forth earlier this week.
The IDA recommends following the ADA guidelines that all dentists close their offices for three weeks to patients seeking elective and non-urgent care. During that time dentists should provide only emergency dental care and medically necessary care. This will allow us to care for our most critical patients, while also alleviating the burden that emergency dental care would put on hospitals.

Coronavirus Policy
To prevent the virus from entering our office, we are actively screening patients by phone and rescheduling visits as necessary to avoid treating those who could be sick. If you, your child, or someone that you care for is at high risk for complications from the virus we are happy to reschedule your appointment to a later date. We also ask that you contact us to reschedule your appointment if you have:
- Fever
- Cough
- Shortness of Breath
- History of travel outside of the US within the last 14 days
- Been in contact with someone who has the coronavirus or flu, or other illnesses that could be transmitted
We also ask that you minimize the number of people that come into our office who are not involved in patient care. In the situation of an emergency with current symptoms contact our office and we will make appropriate accommodations on a case by case basis.
If you have any concerns our questions about our coronavirus policy, please contact our office.
