Board Candidacy
Dr. Jarod has passed the 2015 Qualifying Exam given by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and has attained the status of Candidate. The Qualifying Exam is the first step of two towards becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. The final step in the process is the Oral Clinical Examination which takes place annually and Dr. Jarod will be eligible to take next fall. Diplomate status is a high honor of the profession of Pediatric Dentistry. The two examinations evaluate a Pediatric Dentist’s didactic knowledge as well as diagnostic and clinical decision making.
Dr. Jarod scored within the Top 20% in three of the eight domains.
- Restorative dentistry oral rehabilitation (Dental materials, Oral surgery, Prosthetics, Esthetic dentistry, Operative dentistry)
- Child development/behavior guidance (Physical, psychological, and social development, Principles of communication, Anxiety and pain control, Non-pharmacological behavior guidance, sedation and general anesthesia)
- Pulp therapy/orofacial trauma (pulp biology and pathology, Indications and rationale for pulp therapy, Orofacial trauma, Soft tissue injuries, Child abuse and neglect)
