AAPD Annual Session 2019
This year the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry hosted its Annual Session in Chicago, IL. It is the premiere meeting for continuing education, professional development, networking, and social engagement for pediatric dentists.
Dr. Jarod was able to further his education by attending lectures. He was able to attend courses focused on team building, minimally invasive dentistry, leadership, social media, treatment of children with bleeding disorders, and management of sedation emergencies.
In addition to attending continuing education courses Dr. Jarod provided a lecture in the form of a Learning Lab on root canal treatment on under developed permanent teeth. The lecture focused on teaching colleges proper management and treatment of adult teeth needing root canal treatment. This was Dr. Jarod’s fourth consecutive year presenting at the AAPD Annual Session.
Dr. Jarod and his family attended the meeting. They were able to attend the welcome reception which was hosted by the AAPD at the Museum of Science and Industry. They enjoyed exploring Chicago by making visits to the Bean, Buckingham Fountain, Maggie Daily Park, and Shed Aquarium. Lydia and William’s favorite was Maggie Daily Park!
There were plenty of opportunities for networking. Dr. Jarod was appointed to serve on the Committee for Membership as a consultant. The committee made strategic plans for developing a course of action to continue a strong relationship with the members of the AAPD. Dr. Jarod also attended alumni receptions for the University of Iowa, and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Dental Medicine. He enjoyed reuniting with classmates and colleagues.
The next AAPD Annual Session will be May 21-24, 2020 in Nashville, Tenn. We look forward to another great meeting!
